The Boonville City Council heard the first reading of ordinances regarding the changing of certain utility rates during its meeting on Monday, March 4.
The council heard and approved the first readings of ordinances pertaining to solid waste collection fees and rates for water and wastewater services which are scheduled to go into affect on April 1, 2019. The solid waste collection fee for each residential unit (including two and three unit occupancies) is $17.50 per month for hand pick ups once a week. The water service fee for residents is set at $23.64 (depending on meter size) for the first 1,000 gallons of water used in a month with an additional fee of $6.53 for each 1,000 gallons consumed afterwards. The wastewater service fee for residents is set at a minimum rate of $28.05 per month.
The second reading of the ordinances is scheduled to be heard at the next council meeting on Monday, March 18.
