Joe Aull, who was hired by the city of Lexington a little more than a year ago to be its City Administrator, has been let go.
According to information posted on the city’s website, Aull- a former Lexington and Marshall Public Schools Superintendent and State Representative- was hired as City Administrator in December 2017 and started his position with the city at the beginning of 2018.
According to minutes from the meeting on February 26 posted on the city’s website, in closed session, a motion was made and seconded by council members to authorize Mayor Fred Wiedner to terminate Aull without cause if he did not resign, and to pay severance, if necessary. The motion carried on a roll-call vote of 6 to 1- with one council member being absent.
