The Higginsville Board of Aldermen considered passage of a bill pertaining to the addition of Chapter 250 to the Code of Ordinances regarding medical-marijuana regulations and standards for production, testing and distribution during its meeting on Monday, March 4.
City Administrator Jeanette Dobson said the city made sure all of the I’s were dotted and T’s were crossed prior to bringing it before the board.
Aldermen approved the bill.
In other news, Dobson said the board approved a bill regarding the purchase of fireworks. She said the city will expend the $7,000 up front and then will be reimbursed by the Higginsville Chamber of Commerce after it holds some fundraising events. The board also approved a bill for an agreement with the Higginsville Lions Club to design and conduct the fireworks display on Thursday, July 4.
Also, Building Official Sandra Stephens was recognized for her five years of service.
