Well over 100 area high school students converged on the Saline County Courthouse in Marshall for County Government Day on Friday, March 1.
During the meeting of the county commission on Tuesday, March 5, Presiding Commissioner Kile Guthrey Jr. gave kudos to the event’s organizer. Guthrey said “I believe we had over 140 area high-school students. (I want to give) special thanks to Steve Olson, Commander of Malta Bend American Legion Post 558. He does a lot of work putting all of this together. He does a great service for our young people.”
Students from all of Saline County’s high schools- Marshall, Malta Bend, Sweet Springs and Slater- attended the all-day event- which included meeting county office holders and a visit to the Saline County Justice Facility.
