The Slater City Council began discussing plans for the annual Steve McQueen Day event during its meeting on Tuesday, March 5.
City Administrator Gene Griffith said this year’s Steve McQueen Day– scheduled for Saturday, June 15– will be similar to last year, but would like to include more events.

Griffith added any person or groups interested in showing off their cars or motorcycles for the event is advised to contact him or City Hall.

In other business, Griffith said the city will begin fixing potholes on the streets once it receives the proper patching
Griffith added the potholes being fixed also relies on winter weather staying away long enough to start the project.
