A Kansas City, Kansas, man sustained minor injuries in a traffic accident in Lafayette County on Thursday.
A report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol says the accident occurred as 30-year-old Cody States’ northbound vehicle reportedly encountered a mechanical defect, which caused it to travel off the right side of the roadway and down a ravine.
States, who reportedly was not wearing a seat belt, was transported by Wellington E.M.S. to Centerpoint Hospital in Independence for treatment.
The accident happened at 4:40 p.m. on Missouri Highway 131, north of Bryant Knob Road.
