During the meeting of the Saline County Commission on Thursday, March 7, Southern District Commissioner Monte Fenner reported some roadwork is scheduled to take place at a railroad crossing next month.

In other news, Fenner said the county road and bridge crew is staying busy.

And, Northern District Commissioner Stephanie Gooden reported the commissioners were going to meet with engineers of Public Water Supply District No. 3 on Thursday afternoon regarding the project to get water and sewer to the south side of the junction of U.S. Highway 65 and I-70. She said “we are moving forward. I want to reassure the citizens of Saline County that it is happening. Today is one step closer to getting the design finalized.”
Presiding Commissioner Kile Guthrey Jr. said “I think they’re going to map out the path of where the water lines are going to go.”
No other information is available about that meeting at this time.
The project is being funded by proceeds from the countywide economic-development tax voters passed in April 2018.
