Authorities in Johnson County responded to a reported threat at a public school on Friday, March 8.
According to a post on the Johnson County Sheriff’s Department’s Facebook page, the School Resource Officer at Warrensburg Middle School was informed of a school violence threat by a student.
Warrensburg Police officers and detectives investigated the threat, and interviewed students and staff at the Middle School.
Just after 1:30 p.m., officers executed a search warrant at the home of the juvenile subject. Detectives reportedly recovered the juvenile’s cell phone and obtained a search warrant to examine it for evidence.
The juvenile was apprehended and released to the custody of the Johnson County Juvenile Office.
