A Carrollton resident who changed his plea in January regarding two counts of Involuntary Manslaughter in the Second Degree is scheduled to be sentenced this week.
According to online court documents, on January 8, 21-year-old Blake Lee Wilson pleaded guilty. The charges were filed after Wilson was determined to be the driver of a vehicle involved in a rollover traffic crash, during which two Carrollton residents died on December 23, 2017.
A probable-cause statement says an investigation revealed the vehicle’s speedometer was stuck between 115 and 120 miles per hour; the tachometer was stuck at approximately 4,000 RPMs; and Wilson tested positive for alcohol during a preliminary breath test at the hospital.
Court documents say Wilson’s willingness to plead guilty was the result of prior discussions between the prosecuting attorney and the defendant or defendant’s attorney as part of a plea agreement.
Wilson is scheduled to appear for a sentencing hearing at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 12, at Carroll County Circuit Court.
