A jury trial for a Carrollton teen who has been charged with a sex-related felony involving a juvenile was canceled in January. He is scheduled to be in court again this week.
According to a probable-cause statement, a child told authorities that Corbin Gilmer, who is now 18 years old, engaged in a sexual act with them around May 20, 2018. Gilmer originally denied the accusation but then reportedly told authorities in detail what happened.
According to online court documents, Gilmer has been charged with an Unclassified Felony for Statutory Sodomy or Attempted Statutory Sodomy- Deviate Sexual Intercourse with a Person Less Than 12 Years Old.
Gilmer pleaded not guilty during a hearing on June 4, waived his preliminary hearing on September 12, and his case was bound over to circuit court. He again pleaded not guilty during a hearing on October 9.
Gilmer is scheduled to appear for a hearing at 9 a.m. Tuesday, March 12, at Carroll County Circuit Court.
