Three area residents suffered serious injuries in a traffic crash in Johnson County on Sunday.
A report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol says the crash occurred as an eastbound vehicle reportedly traveled off the left side of the roadway, through a field and struck a tree. The report says the driver of the vehicle is unknown.
Reportedly flown by Life Flight helicopter to Research Hospital in Kansas City for treatment was 25-year-old Jessica Quetzecua, of Sedalia. Other vehicle occupants- 26-year-old Carlos Alvarez, of Marshall, and 23-year-old Irving Catlan Rodriguez, of Sedalia- reportedly were transported by E.M.S. to Western Missouri Medical Center in Warrensburg for treatment. Reportedly, nobody in the vehicle was wearing a seat belt.
The crash happened at 5:15 a.m. on U.S. Highway 50, nine-tenths of a mile west of Northwest 751st Road.
