A 28-year-old Boonville man has been charged with a felony for allegedly assaulting his mother on February 9.
A probable-cause statement says Boonville Police officers were dispatched to a residence in the 1100 block of Seventh Street for a reported domestic disturbance. Officers made contact with the woman, who told authorities Nathaniel Michael Tripp assaulted her by choking her, slamming her head into a wall and continuing to choke her until she became unconscious. Officers believed Tripp to be under the influence of methamphetamine due to his actions when he was questioned. Officers also noted the alleged victim had received red marks around her neck and an approximate inch-and-a-half hematoma to the back of her head.
According to online court documents, Tripp has been charged with a Class D Felony for Domestic Assault in the Second Degree. He posted surety bond on Monday, March 11.
Tripp is scheduled to be arraigned at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, March 26, at Cooper County Circuit Court.
