Two Sedalia residents were injured, including one who sustained serious injures, during a traffic accident in Pettis County on Sunday.
A report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol says the accident occurred as a northbound vehicle, driven by 21-year-old Jake Couchman, reportedly traveled off the left side of the roadway and stuck a tree before coming to a rest.
Couchman sustained serious injures and was transported by helicopter to University Hospital in Columbia for treatment. A passenger in the vehicle, 21-year-old Daylin Aldrich, was transported to Bothwell Hospital for treatment of moderate injuries. Reportedly, both were not wearing seat belts during the accident.
The accident occurred just before 11:30 a.m. on Route O, just north of Route HH.
