The Pettis County Sheriff’s Office has reported that escaped convict, Travis Lee Davis, was apprehended on Tuesday, March 19.
According to a news release, after an extensive search in the area overnight, the Sedalia Police Department received information that Davis was hiding in a detached garage at a residence in the 2100 block of East 7th Street at approximately 4:30 A.M. Officers responded to the residence and checked the garage, where Davis was found hiding in the attic of the garage.
Once in custody, Davis claimed to have a medical issue where the Pettis County Ambulance District responded to evaluate him. PCAD with officers then transported Davis to the Bothwell Regional Health Center, where he was fit for confinement and was observed by medical staff. Officers then transported Davis to the Pettis County Jail.
Other law enforcement agencies assisting in the search of Davis included the sheriff’s offices in Cooper, Morgan, Moniteau and Benton counties, as well as troopers with the state highway patrol and the U.S. Marshal Service, which was brought in last week to help with the investigation.
