Events scheduled later this year and new hires were discussed during the Saline County Commission meeting on Tuesday, March 19.
Northern District Commissioner Stephanie Gooden details a request regarding the Saline County BBQ in June.

Gooden added the first spring fling event is scheduled next month and this one will be apart of the BBQ on Saturday, June 1.
In other business, Presiding Commissioner Kile Guthery Jr read a letter regarding the use of the courthouse grounds in November.

Commissioners approved both request for those events to be held on courthouse grounds later this year.
In other business, Guthery said the county hired Cydney Mayfield, of Pilot Grove, to serve the position of Assistant Prosecuting Attorney.
