The preliminary autopsy results have been release regarding the Glasgow woman who was found dead at the Saline County Jail earlier this week.
According to a news release from Saline County Sheriff Cindi Mullins, the preliminary results from 48-year-old Heidi Elfering’s autopsy revealed that she had suffered a hemorrhage of the brain stem due to a history of uncontrolled high blood pressure. On Friday, March 22nd, Saline County Coroner Willie Harlow reported the results of the autopsy which determined the death was of natural causes and no foul play was suspected.
According to the original release, deputies found Elfering unresponsive in her cell during the late morning hours of Thursday, March 21. Elfering was pronounced dead at 11:57 a.m. by Harlow.
Elfering was arrested during a court appearance for a probation violation on Wednesday, March 20.
