The public is invited to the Arrow Rock State Historic Site for a free presentation and reception for Native American artist Reuben Iron Horse-Kent as part of the First Saturday Lecture Series Saturday, April 6.
Kent is a member of the Buffalo Clan of the Iowa Tribe of Kansas and Nebraska. Following the lecture, there will be a reception and opening of a show of Kent’s works, which will be at the historic site gallery through the end of June.
The show will feature his works in various media, including ceramic art, paintings, textiles and sculptures. His works have been featured in several art books and have appeared in collections including the Smithsonian American Indian Art Museum, the Institute of American Indian Arts, the Heritage Museum at Pine Ridge, S.D., and the Southern Plains Indian Museum.
The event is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m.
