An Odessa teen has been formally charge with a felony for resisting arrest during an incident earlier this year in Lafayette County.
A probable statement says Lafayette County Deputies responded to a residence in Odessa in an attempt to locate 19-year-old Cole Kram who had active felony warrants for his arrest on January 4.
Deputies arrived at the residence and located Kram who was hiding in the trunk of a vehicle. Kram reportedly stayed in the vehicle and would not get out. After approximately 20 minutes of trying to convince Kram to exit the vehicle, he reportedly jumped into the driver’s seat and accelerated the vehicle in reverse. Deputies noticed the vehicle was not operating properly and eventually detained Kram. The vehicle’s emergency brake was engaged, which gave deputies the time to arrest Kram who reportedly was in possession of a pipe with white residue on it and a small baggie of methamphetamine.
Online court documents say Kram has been charged with a Class E Felony for Resisting Arrest for a Felony and a drug-related misdemeanor. Bond has not yet been set.
Kram’s initial hearing is pending at Lafayette County Circuit Court.
