The Slater City Council heard from Mayor Dr. Stephen Allegri regarding the cleaning up of certain properties during its meeting on Tuesday, April 16.
Allegri said during his report that the city has begun the process of issuing notices for properties deemed a nuisance due to junk or other unsightly objects in residential yards.

City Administrator Gene Griffith said residents have 10 days after the issuance of the notice to clean up the property before tickets will be administered.
City Attorney Adam Sommer said there is a grace period after the issuance of the first ticket, but procrastination can lead to hefty fines.

In other business, incumbent board members Brenda Smith, Terry Jordan and Crystal Wiseman were administered the Oath Of Office after the council accepted the results of the Municipal Election.
