It took a Lafayette County jury only 35 minutes to find Brian Hahn, of Odessa, guilty of two felony and a misdemeanor charge for possession of a controlled substance recently.
According to a post on prosecuting attorney Kristen Ellis Hilbrenner’s Facebook page, the one-day trial included one witness for the state, who testified that two kinds of pills and a baggy of marijuana- as well as a set of digital scales- were located in a dresser belonging to the defendant.
According to testimony of the law-enforcement officer who located the drugs, Hahn admitted he had the drugs to either use or sell.
Sentencing is scheduled to take place on June 3. Because Hahn is a prior and persistent felony offender, Hilbrenner says he faces up to 15 years on each felony and one year on the misdemeanor.
