A former Glasgow resident charged with a with a felony for allegedly taking advantage of the elderly is due in court next week.
According to a probable-cause statement, Lindsay Michelle Forbes was appointed as qualified guardian and conservator over her father’s estate in 2016. On January 5, 2018, the Saline County Division of Aging reported to the Marshall Police Department a possible exploitation of an elder.
Westport Estates in Marshall advised the elderly man that there was an outstanding balance on his account of more than $26,000 and an outstanding bill of more than $1,150 owed to a pharmacy that provides his medications. Forbes is alleged to have made purchases with the man’s funds that totaled more than $27,800, and none of the items reportedly ever reached the man’s residence.
According to online court documents, 42-year-old Forbes, whose address is now listed as Blackburn, has been charged with a Class B Felony for Financial Exploitation of an Elderly or Disabled Person. Forbes posted surety bond in January 2018, and pleaded not guilty in May 2018.
A trial-setting hearing is scheduled for 11 a.m. on Monday, April 22, at Saline County Circuit Court.
