Donald Hughes Sr., age 90, of Dalton, died Sunday, April 21, 2019.
Service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 27, at Dalton First Baptist Church, where visitation begins at 9 a.m. Burial, with military honors, will follow at Dalton City Cemetery.

Donald is survived by his wife Hune, of the home; sons, Donald Hughes Jr., and Ron (Jessica) Hughes, of San Diego, CA; six daughters, Barbara Williams, of Kansas City, Carolyn Hughes, of Marshall, Patricia Howard, of Kansas City, Pam Smith, of Kansas City, Danye Hughes, of Marshall, and La Nique Solomon of St. Petersburg, FL; three step daughters, Hen Chhoup, of Connecticut, Hean Nop, of Massachusetts, and Heout Chhoup, of California; sister, Madelyn Payne, of Columbia; two sisters-in-law, Sue Hughes, of Dalton, and JoAnna Hughes, of Kansas City; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lucilious and Laverda (Blackwell) Hughes; first wife, Minnie C. Hughes; daughter, Brenda Tatum; brothers, Marvin Hughes, Maurice Hughes and Roland Hughes; daughter-in-law, Jill Hughes; sister, Thelma Tatum; and a grandson.
