A Tampa, Florida, resident is facing felony charges after allegedly leading authorities on a pursuit in a vehicle that was reported as stolen and then on foot on Thursday, April 18, in Lafayette County.
According to a probable-cause statement, Terry B. Rodriguez and Meghann S. Irmler, were in the vehicle and failed to yield to a trooper after a pursuit in Higginsville. The vehicle ran off the roadway, and the subjects reportedly fled on foot. Irmler was apprehended, but Rodriguez got away. Irmler also reportedly slipped out of restraints and escaped out of the patrol car and had to be chased down again. Rodriguez later was found by Odessa Police officers. The vehicle was reported as stolen, but it had not yet been entered into the M.U.L.E.S. system.
Online court documents say Rodriguez has been charged with a Class D Felony for Tampering with a Motor Vehicle and a Class E Felony for Resisting Arrest by Fleeing. Irmler has been charged with misdemeanors for tampering; attempt to escape custody; and resisting arrest. Rodriguez’s bond has been set at $25,000 cash or surety. Irmler’s bond amount is not available.
An initial hearing for each of the accused is pending at Lafayette County Circuit Court.
