The Saline County Career Center DECA chapter has received another four-figure donation.
A news release says on April 11, SCCC DECA received a $2,000 donation from CFM Insurance, Inc., in Concordia. The donation will help support and sustain the chapter this year as it works toward sending two members- Romario Monroy and Trinity Stewart (Creative Marketing Project-Operation Stand Up)- to the DECA International Career Development Competition (ICDC) April 26- May 1 in Orlando, Florida.
Some DECA members participated in a project called “November Rain,” to raise awareness and support veterans. In March, DECA members collected money at an intersection to go towards supporting veterans. On May 10, proceeds from various fundraising events will be awarded to local veterans during the 2nd annual DECA award ceremony at 5 p.m. in the Marshall High School Little Theater.
For more information about becoming a sponsor this year, contact DECA Advisor Kerry Henley at (660) 886-6958.
