An area student with the Boonville FFA Chapter was named 2019-20 state FFA Vice President during the 91st Missouri FFA Convention.
According to a news release, Tyler Schuster, of Blackwater, was named state vice president.
Schuster’s supervised agricultural experience program consists of growing a vegetable garden and selling the produce to local customers at a roadside stand. In addition, he works for his family’s row crop and beef cattle operation; and as a banquet server at the Boonville Isle of Capri.
Schuster has served as chapter president, secretary, and junior president as well as area treasurer for Boonville FFA.
In addition to FFA, Schuster has served as parliamentarian and treasurer of Future Business Leaders of America. He participated in powerlifting, soccer, golf, basketball, baseball, scholar bowl, National Honor Society, National Technical Honor Society, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Key Club and YoungLife.
Schuster plans to study mechanical engineering at the University of Missouri. After graduation he plans to obtain a master’s degree and work on robotics and automation.
