A 33-year-old Chula man who reportedly ran from a vehicle that was stopped by authorities at about 2:30 a.m. on September 11, 2018, has been charged with felonies in Carroll County.
According to a probable-cause statement, the three persons who were still in the truck told the deputy that bags in the truck bed containing a pistol, arrowheads, other artifacts, jewelry, recovery tools and a generator- all of which had been reported as stolen from a residence and barn in Bogard- were placed there by the man who had fled the scene. The deputy recovered and returned the items- valued at about $4,000 by the owners.
Online court documents say a warrant has been issued, and Jonathan Allen Peterie has been charged with Class D Felonies for Burglary in the Second Degree and Stealing of $750 or More. Cash-only bond has been set at $15,000.
Peterie’s initial hearing is pending at Carroll County Circuit Court.
