A resurfacing project is scheduled to begin next week on a highway in Chariton County.
According to the Missouri Department of Transportation, it has contracted with Capital Paving and Construction to resurface 19-1/2 miles of Highway 5- from the southern Marceline city limits to U.S. Highway 24. Crews will be widening shoulders and placing new asphalt surface through the area. The work is expected to begin Thursday, May 2, and continue through the end of June.
Motorists who regularly travel this area should be alert and watch for roadway signs and workers.
Crews will work during daylight hours, five days per week. Some work may occur on the weekends, if necessary, to complete the project on schedule.
All work is weather permitting and could be rescheduled.
