John Miles, of the Marshall FFA Chapter, won the FFA Creed speaking leadership development event at the 91st Missouri FFA Convention in Columbia.

A news release says individuals from six districts were selected to compete at the state level.

The competition requires contestants to recite the FFA Creed. Speakers then answer a series of questions based on their interpretation of the creed. A panel of judges determines each participant’s score. Participating FFA members gain self-confidence, sharpen their ability to think quickly and hone presentation skills.

Miles’ advisors are Morgan Borts, Tyler Burgin and Emily Reed.

In other individual results, Jodi Robinson, of the Richmond FFA Chapter, placed fourth in the FFA Creed speaking leadership development event. Robinson’s advisors are Laura Allen and Charles Foreman, Jr.

Sophie Kussman, of the Brunswick FFA Chapter, placed fourth in the job interview leadership development event. Sixteen students from six districts were selected to compete at the state level. Kussman advisor is Kendra Rieckhoff.
