An area police department says it collected over 100 pounds of unwanted medications during the national drug take-back event this past weekend.
A post on the Boonville Police Department’s Facebook page says on Saturday, April 27, officers with assistance from the Boonville Fire Department, collected nearly 130 pounds of unwanted prescription medications. The unwanted medications will now be properly disposed of by the DEA and won’t have the opportunity to pollute the environment or get into the wrong hands.
The Boonville Police and Fire Departments would like to thank those who participated, as well as those who continue support the drug take-back event every year.
