A Bates City man was killed after being struck by a tractor trailer in Lafayette County on Monday.
According to a report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the accident occurred as an eastbound freightliner, driven by 35-year-old Anatoly Gavrilov, of Jamaica, New York, reportedly struck 63-year-old William Dravenstott, who was kneeling in the center of the roadway.
Dravenstott was pronounced deceased on the scene at 11:40 p.m. by Deputy Coroner Ryan McFatrick. Gavrilov reportedly was not injured.
The accident happened at 11:25 p.m. at the 31.4 mile marker on I-70.
