During the meeting of the Marshall City Council on Monday, May 6, Marshall Municipal Band Director Kevin Lines expressed his appreciation to the Municipal Services Department.
In other news, the council approved several requests for events.
*To close Jackson Street- between Ellsworth and English Avenues- from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Wednesday, May 15, for St. Peter School Field Day.
*To close Lafayette Avenue- between Marion and North Streets- from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, June 1, for Jim the Wonder Dog Day. It also is the 20th anniversary of the opening of the Jim the Wonder Dog Park along that block.
*Also on June 1- to close North Street- between Lafayette and Jefferson Avenues- from 9 a.m. until noon for the Spring Fling; and to close the square and suspend Code of Ordinances Section 4-2 from 5 to 10 p.m. for the “Sips and Grins Wine Walk.”
*To close the square from 5 to 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, October 24, for Trick or Treating on the Square.
*And to allow for the Christmas Parade to take place on Friday, December 6.
