A Higbee man has been charged with felony for an alleged assault incident where the victim sustained internal injuries last month in Howard County.
A probable-cause statement says Howard County deputies responded to a report of an assault at a residence on County Road 345 on April 4.
Deputies first contacted a male victim who was noticed to have a broken nose and his face covered in blood. The male victim said a physical altercation occurred with 43-year-old Jason Johnmeyer. A female witness reportedly asked for Johnmeyer to leave the residence multiple times prior to the incident. The male victim stated when he arrived at the residence Johnmeyer was still there and the physical altercation occurred. The victim stated he was pinned to the ground and Johnmeyer struck him multiple times, and also was inadvertently bit in the back of the head by the female’s dog. The male victim later received treatment for a bruised lung and kidney, two broken ribs, a broken nose; and stitches on the front and back of his head.
Online court documents say Johnmeyer has been charged with a Class B Felony for Assault in the First Degree with bond set at $25,000 cash or surety.
His initial hearing is pending at Howard County Circuit Court.
