A Marshall man who allegedly kicked a youth in the face on November 11, 2018, has been charged with a felony.
According to a probable-cause statement, on November 26, the 7-year-old told authorities that he and Anthony Jasper Alspaw were wrestling, and Alspaw became upset at him when he threw a toy doll and hit Alspaw. The child said, Alspaw- in a standing position- kicked him in the face with his foot while he was lying on the floor. The child also said Alspaw picked him up by his shirt and threw him out the front door. The child reportedly was outside in just a jersey shirt and shorts for an unknown amount of time before he was let back inside. The child showed authorities the bruises he had suffered to his left eye, right cheek, right ear, forehead and his right shoulder.
On November 27, the Children’s Mercy Scan Clinic contacted authorities and informed them the child was diagnosed with having suffered physical abuse.
Online court documents say a warrant has been issued and Alspaw has been charged with a Class D Felony for Abuse of Neglect of a Child- No Sexual Contact.
Alspaw’s initial hearing is pending at Saline County Circuit Court.
