Two Sedalia residents have been arrested and charged with felonies in connection with a shooting incident on Monday, May 13.
According to a press release on the Sedalia Police Department’s Facebook page, officers responded to the 500 block of East 2nd Street at 12:04 p.m. to the report about a subject being shot. Upon arrival, officers located the victim- 32-year-old Sean Clark, of Hughesville- who was suffering from several gunshot wounds. Pettis County ambulance reportedly transported Clark from the scene; and he eventually was flown by helicopter to University Hospital in Columbia for treatment.
According to an updated post on the police department’s Facebook page, officers from the Patrol Division and Criminal Investigation Bureau investigated the incident and developed two suspects. Investigators determined the suspects were traveling on I-70, and with the assistance of the Missouri State Highway Patrol- 24-year-old Tyler James Evans and 42-year-old Tiffanie Loraine O’Malley- were stopped and taken into custody on drug-related charges in Lafayette County.
According to online court documents, Evans has been charged with Class A Felonies for Assault in the First Degree- Causing Serious Physical Injury and Unlawful Use of a Weapon- Shooting at a Person; a Class E Felony for Unlawful Use of a Weapon- Exhibiting; and an Unclassified Felony for Armed Criminal Action. O’Malley has been charged with Class A Felonies for Assault in the First Degree- Causing Serious Physical Injury and Unlawful Use of a Weapon- Shooting at a Person; and a Class E Felony for Hindering Prosecution of a Felony. Bond for each subject has been set at $150,000 cash or surety.
An initial hearing for each defendant is pending at Pettis County Circuit Court.
