Two Warsaw residents- including a youth- suffered injuries in a two-vehicle traffic crash in Benton County on Tuesday.
A report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol says the crash occurred as an eastbound vehicle, driven by 34-year-old Nicole Long, reportedly crossed the roadway and into the path of a northbound vehicle, driven by 60-year-old James Johnson, of Sedalia. Johnson’s vehicle reportedly traveled off the east side of the roadway and struck a guardrail.
While Johnson reportedly was not injured, a 4-year-old female passenger in Long’s vehicle suffered serious and Long moderate injuries. Long and the 4-year-old- who reportedly were not wearing safety devices- were flown by Staff For Life and Life Flight Eagle helicopters to Truman Medical Center and Children’s Mercy Hospital for treatment.
The crash happened at 11:30 a.m. on U.S. Highway 65 at Route T.
