The 31st Annual “Run For the Wall” began on Wednesday, May 15, in the state of California.
Hundreds of the well over 1,000 bikers are scheduled to roar into the KMMO listening area on Monday, May 20. Coordinator for the 11th annual Concordia stop, Lori Wilson says the sign-in sheet for Junction City, Kansas- the prior stop during the central-route trip- included 458 participants, as of May 1.
Wilson says it takes a small army to get everything ready for lunch to be served at Southside Park after the bikers arrive at about 11:30 a.m.
Wilson wants residents to be aware the motorcycles will be traveling down Gordon Street, and there will be no parking allowed near Southside Park. However, she said transportation will be available for those who have problems walking any distance.
Wilson says the bikers will leave Concordia with a law-enforcement escort at about 1:30 p.m. and head east on I-70. Wilson encourages people line the streets and show their support.
The motorcycle riders also will stop in Columbia and Wentzville on May 20, as they continue their journey. They are scheduled to arrive in Washington, D.C., on Saturday, May 25.
