An Odessa man was seriously injured in a traffic accident in Lafayette County on Monday.
A report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol says the driver of a south bound vehicle, 77-year-old William Wills, reportedly failed to negotiate a curve, and the vehicle struck a utility pole. Wills reportedly then overcorrected the vehicle where it traveled to the opposite side of the roadway and struck a ditch.
Wills, who reportedly was not wearing a seat belt, was transported by Odessa E.M.S to Centerpoint Medical Center in Independence for treatment.
The accident occurred just before 9 a.m. on Missouri Highway 131, three miles north of Odessa.
