Felony charges have been filed against a 34-year-old Boonville man for allegedly assaulting two people at a residence in Pilot Grove on April 12.
According to a probable-cause statement, between 7:30 and 8:15 p.m., William Allen VanBrunt III caused serious injuries to a man and woman by repeatedly hitting and kicking them. Vanbrunt also allegedly damaged a Boonville resident’s mailbox by hitting it with his vehicle on the same night.
Online court documents say VanBrunt has been charged with a Class B Felony for Assault in the First Degree; a Class E Felony for Assault in the Third Degree; and a misdemeanor for property damage. Bond has been set at $10,000 cash or surety.
An initial hearing for VanBrunt is pending at Cooper County Circuit Court.
