Area firefighters responded to a house fire where the occupants escaped, but the blaze caused considerable damage to the home recently in Carroll County.
According to a post on the Carrollton Police Department’s Facebook page, just after 11 p.m. on Monday, May 27, a fire was reported at a residence in the 800 block of North Main Street. Firefighters learned that the residence belonged to Police Chief Robert Turner.
Chief Turner and his family reportedly were able to escape the blaze with minor injuries, however, they suffered a significant loss of personal items and the home was deemed a total loss.
The Carrollton Police Department has since formed a GoFundMe account to help start recovery efforts for Chief Turner and his family. Anyone wanting to donate personal care items, clothing, cards, etc; may drop off items or send them to the Carrollton Police Department at 1320 North Highway 65, Carrollton Mo, 64633.
Chief Turner would like to thank the community for its support during his family’s time of need.
