Lexington Mayor Fred Wiedner has issued a citywide “Declaration of Emergency.”
Wiedner issued the message via the Lafayette County Emergency Management’s Facebook page on Wednesday, May 29.

Wiedner said the sandbagging effort was to begin at 3 p.m. on Wednesday at the intersection of Broadway and Highland Avenue.
Wiedner’s message continued.

Again, for those wish to volunteer, the sandbagging effort is scheduled to continue at 8 a.m. Thursday, May 30. The command center has been set up at the fire station on Business 13.
