A Marshall man who was charged with a sex-related felony involving a juvenile in 2017 changed his plea and was sentenced to spend more than a decade in state prison last week .
According to a probable-cause statement, on May 18, 2017, a 6-year-old female alleged to authorities that Kenneth Lydell Robinson, whom she referred to as “dad,” had deviate sexual contact with her.
Robinson was charged with one count of an Unclassified Felony for Statutory Sodomy or Attempted Statutory Sodomy- Deviate Sexual Intercourse- with a Person Less Than 12 Years Old.
Online documents say 37-year-old Robinson changed his not-guilty plea to guilty during a hearing on June 4. Then the judge sentenced Robinson to 15 years in the Missouri Department of Corrections. Robinson was remanded to the custody of the Saline County Sheriff’s Department for delivery to the D.O.C.
The court also entered an order directing the Children’s Division to list Robinson as a perpetrator of child abuse or neglect in the central registry. A certified copy of the order was e-mailed to the Children’s Division.
A jury trial in the matter was scheduled to begin on Wednesday, June 12.
