James L. Meyer, 97, of rural Sweet Springs, MO, died Tuesday, June 11, 2019.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 15, 2019 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Sweet Springs.  Burial with military rites will follow at Fairview Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Friday at the church.

Survivors include two sons, Robert D. Meyer (Sherry), of Flower Mound, TX, and Ronald J. Meyer (Vicki), of rural Sweet Springs; nine grandchildren: JoAnn Baze, Lorie Stearns, Ginger Beals, Matthew Meyer, Samuel Meyer, James Meyer, Jon Meyer, Mark Meyer and Mallory Petersen; 18 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; one brother, John Meyer, of Sedalia; as well as nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Arthur Meyer and Della Marie Vogelsmeier Meyer, and wife, Ruth Irene Zimmerschied; he was preceded in death by three brothers: Victor Alpers, Leland Meyer and Harold Meyer.
