PURSUIT LEADS TO CRASH, FELONY CHARGES FILED IN SALINE COUNTY

A 57-year-old Marshall man was injured in a two-vehicle traffic crash in Saline County on Wednesday, June 12. The story from the report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol was posted on KMMO’s website on Thursday, June 13.

According to a report from the Saline County Sheriff’s Department, the subject with multiple felony warrants fled from a traffic stop. The subject- Gary Wayne Henke- reportedly lost control of his motorcycle and was involved with a collision with a deputy’s vehicle. Henke reportedly fled on foot and was apprehended while fleeing.

Henke- who Saline County Deputies say was in possession of a controlled substance- was found fit for confinement at Fitzgibbon Hospital in Marshall and then was transported to the Saline County Jail.

The crash report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol says Henke suffered moderate injuries in the crash.

Online court documents say Henke has been charged with a Class D Felony for Possession of a Controlled Substance; a Class E Felony for Resisting Arrest, Detention or Stop By Fleeing, Creating a Substantial Risk of Serious Injury or Death to Any Person; and three misdemeanors. Bond has been set at $20,000 cash only.
