Floodwater is beginning to recede slowly, and area roadways and bridges that have been closed are starting to reopen.
According to a news release, on Tuesday, June 18, the Missouri Department of Transportation opened the Missouri River Bridge on Highway 40 north of Boonville, which had been closed since June 3.
Highway 87-north of Boonville- also has been opened. Highway 5 and Highway 40 north of the bridge will remain closed until they are no longer covered. Crews will need to clear debris and assess any damage to these roads before they can be reopened.
