During its meeting on Monday, June 17, the Marshall City Council was asked to approve an ordinance for the transfer of a certain tract of land to the Marshall Public School District.
City Administrator David Haugland explained last year the city signed an agreement with the school district to exchange tracts of land- which included the city getting the Gieringer property off of Watermill Road and the school district 22.95 acres, south of Slater Street where the Spainhower Building sits on the Marshall Habilitation Center property.

Haugland said in order for the school district to put some money into those facilities, the council would need to approve the transfer. Haugland said he talked to City Attorney Josh Taylor and Marshall School Board President Brad Guthrey about the matter.

The council approved both readings of the ordinance.
