A Boonville resident has been charged with a felony for allegedly conspiring with a parolee to introduce contraband into a prison in Cooper County.
A probable-cause statement says authorities listened to phone calls between Eric Conley and the parolee, and Conley reportedly gave information to the parolee on where to throw the package outside the Boonville Correctional Center. On May 11, there was a package found by the west side of Housing Unit 15 that reportedly contained 2.8 grams of cocaine, some marijuana and about a pound of tobacco. About 3-1/2 hours later, Conley reportedly called the parolee because the package thrown over could not be found; and to get a better idea where the parolee threw the package.
Online court documents say Conley has been charged with a Class D Felony for Conspiracy for Delivery of a Controlled Substance. Bond has not been set yet. The parolee has not been charged at this time.
An initial hearing for Conley is pending at Cooper County Circuit Court.
