Authorities in an area county are asking residents to be on the lookout for a woman who ran from them earlier Monday, June 24.
A post on the Cooper County Sheriff’s Department’s Facebook page says shortly after 11 a.m., deputies responded to the Harriman Hill Lamine River access off of Route M near Blackwater to assist a conservation agent with a call.
Shortly after their arrival, a 55-year-old Sedalia man was arrested on outstanding warrants. During the investigation, a 25-year-old female who was present ran from the scene and swam across the Lamine River, escaping into an adjacent wooded area. Other deputies- along with several Missouri State Highway Patrol troopers- responded to the area but have been unable to locate the female at this time.
The white female was last seen in an area south of I-70 and east of the Lamine River.
Authorities are asking residents in that general area to be aware and report any suspicious female in the area. She is described as being approximately 5-foot-4 and 185 pounds, with hazel-colored eyes and dark hair. She was last seen wearing jeans and a bra.
If you see the woman, you are urged to call your nearest law-enforcement agency or 9-1-1.
