A Marshall man is facing multiple sex-related felony charges for allegedly engaging in sexual relations with a juvenile.
A probable-cause statement says members of the Platte County Sheriff’s Department’s Investigative Division and a Special Agent came to the Marshall Police Department on Tuesday, June 12. They requested to speak to an officer about possible cyber-crimes. Platte County authorities were concerned that 26-year-old Allen Michael Bishop was having a sexual relationship with a 14-year-old female.
After a thorough investigation- including interviews with the juvenile on two occasions and Bishop, authorities believe sexual acts occurred between September 2018 and April 2019. The female turned 14 in November 2018.
According to online court documents, Bishop has been charged with two counts of a Class D Felony for Statutory Rape in the Second Degree and two counts of a Class D Felony for Statutory Sodomy in the Second Degree. Bond has been set at $25,000 cash only.
Bishop was arraigned on Friday, June 21. A counsel-status hearing is scheduled to held at 9 a.m. Wednesday, June 26, at Saline County Circuit Court.
