A woman who reportedly ran from authorities, swam across the Lamine River and was apprehended later on Monday, June 24, has been charged with multiple felonies in Cooper County.
An updated post on the Cooper County Sheriff’s Department’s Facebook page says a local resident who was keeping an eye on her property led to 25-year-old Jasmine N. Bronger, of Columbia, being taken into custody.
At approximately 4:48 p.m., dispatch received a report from a local resident advising the female was approaching their house. Deputies responded and arrested Bronger was arrested on an outstanding Boone County warrant for Violation of a Court Order on original charges of Burglary in the Second Degree and Theft/Stealing. The original incident occurred at the Harriman Hill Lamine River access at about 11 a.m.
According to online court documents, Bronger has been charged with a Class D Felony for Possession of a Controlled Substance; Class E Felonies for Resisting Arrest for a Felony and Property Damage in the First Degree; and a misdemeanor for receiving stolen property. Bond has been set at $10,000 cash or surety.
Bronger’s initial hearing is pending at Cooper County Circuit Court.
