A 70-year-old Rutherfordton, North Carolina, man suffered moderate injuries in a two-vehicle traffic crash in Lafayette County on Sunday.
A report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol says the crash occurred as a westbound vehicle, driven by 28-year-old Ashley Thieman, of Concordia, was overtaking another westbound vehicle, driven by Matt McBrayer; and before changing from the right to the left lane, Thieman’s vehicle reportedly impacted the rear of McBrayer’s vehicle. After impact, McBrayer’s vehicle overturned, began sliding and traveled off the right side of the roadway. Thieman’s vehicle traveled off the left side of the roadway and impacted the cable barrier.
While Thieman reportedly was not injured, McBrayer was transported by Concordia E.M.S. to Western Missouri Medical Center in Warrensburg for treatment.
The crash happened just after 10:30 a.m. at the 55 mile marker on I-70.
